Let’s get clear on what coaching is about
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
COACHING AND ITS BENEFITS
WHAT IS COACHING?
Coaching helps you to realise that there is more to life than the status quo and it is achievable.
Whatever your version of a happy and healthy life looks like, Coaching helps you to:
- Get clear on your vision for each aspect of your life
- Map out the steps you need to take to get you there.
- Identify any obstacles standing in your way
- Re-build your confidence, self-esteem and value
- Overcome the fears triggered by making a change
- Take actionable steps so that you achieve the life you desire
WHAT IS THE ROLE OF THE COACH?
The role of the Coach is to provide a safe and confidential space for you to sift through all the conflicting thoughts running through your head. To test things out. To act as a sounding board. To challenge your perspective and beliefs. To help you set achievable goals. To hold you accountable.
The coach is there to support you through that journey.
No judgment. No comparison. No guilt.
IS COACHING THE SAME AS COUNSELLING OR THERAPY?
Coaching is not Counselling or Therapy.
Whereas Counselling focuses on getting you back on your feet (healing past traumas, stopping self-destructive behaviour, working through painful feelings), Coaching assumes you are already upright and merely in need of
guidance and support in bringing about a desired change (whether that be in work, at home, in a relationship or otherwise).
WHAT ARE THE LONG TERM BENEFITS OF COACHING?
There is something incredibly freeing about standing confidently in your own shoes and being certain of your life direction. No longer pretending to be someone you are not. No longer determining your worth and value by the opinions of others. No longer marching to the beat of someone else’s drum.
JUST BEING YOU. CONFIDENTLY. WHOLE-HEARTEDLY. UNAPOLOGETICALLY.
Life becomes easier. Decision making becomes easier. Making changes becomes easier. Getting up and out of bed in the morning becomes easier. Why? Because you know who you are and you know your purpose.
This is what Coaching provides.

My clients come from all walks of life, united by a desire for meaningful change, personal growth and a more healthy and fulfilling way of living and working.
What is Braving Boundaries’ mission?
Braving Boundaries’ mission is to help people feeling lost, stuck and overwhelmed create more life balance, so that they can lead happier, healthier and more fulfilling lives, both professionally and personally.
What form of coaching does Braving Boundaries offer?
Braving Boundaries coaching method focuses on you as a “whole person”, not just individual aspects of your life. It is based on the premise that when you come to know, embrace and express all aspects of yourself as a “whole person”, you can easily and effectively draw upon your own wisdom to overcome stumbling blocks and position yourself to thrive in any sphere of life.
We focus on your current life, looking to create a new future. The process is goal and solution oriented, and is driven by you, since you are the expert when it comes to your own life.
Is the Braving Boundaries programme the same for everyone?
No. Our one-on-one coaching sessions are personalised to your needs and requirements and the challenges that you are facing at that point in time. There is nothing bog-standard about this programme.
How does the Braving Boundaries coaching process work?
The Braving Boundaries process focuses on three core transition phases: Believe, Brave, and Balance.
No session is the same. The Braving Boundaries Process acts as a guide, but the focus of the coaching sessions is driven by you and your needs.
THE ENNEAGRAM
What is the Enneagram?
The Enneagram is a personality typing assessment – but, instead of focusing on an individual’s behaviour, it explores the motivation underlying their behaviour. In other words, it helps us to understand WHY we behave in the way that we do. It is an incredibly enlightening and detailed report (the Pro Report is 42 pages long) and can provide some helpful insights into understanding our worldview, our defence mechanisms and blind spots, as well as highlighting potential avenues for growth and development.

Is taking the Enneagram assessment mandatory for coaching?
Absolutely not. Some clients love taking tests and assessments and jump at the chance to explore the Enneagram. Other clients prefer to explore and navigate their challenges without the benefit of an assessment – trusting the whole person coaching process and techniques. The choice is completely yours.
COST AND DURATION
How much will coaching cost?
Coaching is an investment in yourself and your future. As such, the cost of coaching will depend on what you want to achieve from the coaching sessions; the amount of effort you are capable of putting into the coaching process both during and in between sessions; and the time period over which you want my one-on-one support. For further information on packages and programs, please click here: Work With Me.
How long does the coaching relationship last?
Since you are fully in control of the coaching process, the duration is up to you. As a general rule of thumb, coaching clients tend to purchase either 6 or 12 sessions and stagger the sessions over a 3 to 6 month period.
Will you stay in close contact with me during the process?
Absolutely! Between sessions, you have access to me via email (anytime) or by phone (by appointment) to raise any questions or share any triumphs or challenges you have faced in the interim period.
